I'm hesitant to go back to the classics when so much new material has been created, but I'm willing to take the plunge. The Mortal Kombat Kollection will include the entire series, so gamers will have some idea of what they're missing. The four Mortal Kombat games I own and have played are the ones available on the arcade game, with the exception of Blood Omen, and the games available on the Nintendo Super Famicom (SNES) and PlayStation. Out of all the games I've played over the last twenty years, none are as rewarding as the original series. Mortal Kombat 1 is out on September 19th, the Switch will have a standard edition and Premium Edition available. ![]() Shiver Entertainment and Saber Interactive are developing the Nintendo Switch version of the game. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are on the outer. ![]() The real shock is that the game is coming to the Nintendo Switch, “next-gen” consoles, and the PC only. These are different, non-playable fighters who assist during fights. The game will feature a new fighting system, a brand new single-player story mode with “reimagined” characters, and Kameo Fighters. It looks like it will be a complete reboot of the series, and after all the time-traveling shenanigans of the last game Mortal Kombat 11, it makes sense. The next Mortal Kombat game has been announced, and they’re winding back the clock with the game to be called Mortal Kombat 1. ![]()
